📖 Today’s Bible Verse — 30th November 2025 1 Samuel 15:22–23 (KJV)
“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…”
✨ Insight
When God sent Saul on a mission, he partially obeyed—he kept what God said to destroy and justified it with “good intentions.”
Samuel’s response reveals a deep kingdom principle:
1. God desires obedience more than outward acts.
Sacrifices were good, but they were never meant to replace a heart that listens and obeys. God looks at the posture of the heart before the performance of religious duties.
2. Partial obedience is still disobedience.
Saul obeyed selectively. But God values a surrendered heart—one that follows fully, not conveniently.
3. Rebellion and stubbornness disconnect a person from God’s leading.
Samuel equates rebellion with witchcraft—not because they are the same actions, but because both reject God’s authority.
Stubbornness elevates self-will above God’s will, making it a form of idolatry.
This passage calls us to examine our hearts:
Are we obeying God fully? Or only where it feels comfortable?
True obedience brings alignment, protection, and blessing.

Heavenly Father, I ask for a heart that listens and obeys You completely. Remove every form of stubbornness, pride, or selective obedience from my life. Teach me to value Your voice above my own desires. Help me to walk in humility and total submission to Your will, and may my obedience bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
